Balouchistan Chapter
1st of all the cabinet and all the members of PCS BLN congratulate Sindh chapter to take over the charge of centre and also congratulate the cabinet to take the office centre. It is hoped that the centre will continue the enthusiasm of the Peshawar and there will be more improvement regarding the achievements of society.
Report on the activities of Balochistan chapter up till 3rd week of March 2010 was submitted to the centre Peshawar & it is the matter and pleasure & honour of Balochistan that different activities were highly appreciated on different forum and in the meetings of government council.
Maximum number of the members of society from Balochistan participated in the 9th biennial conference. It was an impressive, academic, enjoy full and healthy activity. All the members enjoyed the Hospitality of the centre and will remember the event.
Out of 5 members of Governing Council 3 members attended the meeting of Governing Council on the after noon of 23rd March called by new elected President (2 members left the hotel early morning because of flight schedule) members are happy to have a formal introduction & brief frothing agenda of the society.
On 24th March 2010 World T.B. day was celebrated at different district Head Quarters of Balochistan.
of Ojha An important meeting of BLN Chapter held on 17th April at F.J. Chest & General Hospital an impressive number of members participated & discussed the following agenda. An official letter of thanks on behalf of PCS BLN chapter to the ex-centre (Peshawar) for the great hospitality and very successful conference of Bhurban. Contact with the centre (Sindh chapter) for availability of different Guidelines at T.B, Asthma and No Smoking Day etc. etc.
Forthcoming World Asthma Day on 5th May 2010. It was decided that the Asthma day will be celebrated on large scale including not only the Pulmonology department & F.J Chest & General Hospital but it would be celebrated in the Auditorium of Bolan Medical Complex Hospital adjacent Bolan Medical College with involvement of other department as well.
It is the matter of pleasure that a very impresser activity was arranged on 5th May 2010 at B.M.C. complex hospital. Doctors, Medical students, Para medical staff & common people attended the seminar which was started with the Name of Almighty Allah. The recitation from holy Quran offered by Abdul Kabir of Hilton Pharma. Dr. Syed Muhammad Naeem Agha, Dr. Sanuallah Tareen, Dr. Shereen Khan, Kulsoom Sabir discussed the different Aspects of ASTHMA DR. Aamir Dawood Assistant Professor of Paeds Department discussed the topic the child hood Asthma. It was an impressive program with help of different pharmaceuticals & Media also (specially Hilton Pharma Chiese Pharma). The president of PCS Dr. Abdul Salam paid vote of thanks.
Then the meeting of society Provincial chapter was called upon on 17th May 2010 to discuss the following agenda.
a. The achievements & deficiencies regarding World Asthma Day.
b. Again the contacts with the Center for different issues and again matter of Guidelines & specially the no tobacco as the forthcoming event of World No Tobacco Day.
c. Coming event on 31st May 2010 No Tobacco Day.
The useful & detail discussion held on the different issues of agenda & it was decided that this time society will try it level best to celebrate the World No Tobacco Day on higher level with involvement of high official.
On 31st May 2010 the World No Tobacco Day was celebrated with full enthusiasm. It was the great achievement of society that honourable heald secretary Government of Balochistan was present as chief guest, the Dean of postgraduate medical institute Prof. Ghulam Rasool, Prof. of Cardiology Dr. Abdul Manaf with his team of Cardiology Department, Prof. Dr. Abdul Haleem Taj, M.S. Sandeman Provincial Hospital, Quetta also Honoured the event. An impressive number of Doctors, Lady Doctors, Post Graduate Medical Students, young doctors, Para Medical Staff & common people of community were present on occasion. The membes of society Dr. Kulsoom Sabir, Dr. Syed Muhammad Naeem Agha, Dr. Sheereen Khan, Dr. Sanaullah discussed the different issues related to the hazards of Tobacco. Dr. Mujeeb Tareen of cardiology department discussed cardio vascular effects of tobacco. The Dean of PGMI Prof. Arbab Ghulam Rasool discussed the topic with relation to surgical point of view & other matter of public interest. Honourable Secretary Health Department Jalal Ahmed Khan Mandokhel took keen interest in the whole activity. He highly appreciated the efforts of Pakistan Chest Society for the awareness of common people towards the tobacco Hazards. He also discussed the points that the message should be conveyed to common people. He discussed the implementation of laws which are already formulated for the discouraging behavior of society towards smoking. In the end president of Pakistan Chest Society Dr. Abdul Salam Johar paid vote of thanks. All the participants, Chief Guest, the media, the Pharmaceutical companies were highly appreciated & thanks were paid.

Then the members again gathered on 12th June 2010 to discuss the forthcoming provincial chapter elections.
It was decided that the election for the session 2010 – 2012 of Provincial chapter will be held on 21st June 2010. The nomination papers were scheduled to be deposited with the existing president up till 19th June 2010.
The meeting of society held on 21st June 2010. election were held in a healthy and friendly atmosphere & following cabinet elected unopposed.
